A student asked me if she should pursue her dream even though it is not something that we, Singaporeans, deem as a good job. A smart girl on the way of fulfilling her parents' hopes to be a doctor. Asked her what she thought about it. She teared. She said someone in her family told her to grow up and be realistic. I told her dreams can happen if you want it to happen. Just not easy. There is no telling how many miles you will have to run while chasing a dream. Only you can decide how far you want to go to make it happen. All this coming from someone who shelved her dream. But then again, what was my dream again?
